Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is a procedure, which can correct farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism by reshaping the front surface of the eye. LASIK combines the precision of the excimer laser with the over 30 year history of lamellar keratoplasty (corneal flap making). The result is a method to change the eye's focus over a very wide range of powers. Visual recovery is typically quicker and more comfortable than for other procedures.

Most normal activities are resumed after a day or two.
